A bleak Korean-style Chinese restaurant was transformed, blending traditional Chinese motifs with a fresh contemporary design. Hyo Dong Gak exudes richness from past traditions as well as pizzazz from the new. Recessed lighting replaced intruding pendant lighting, heightening the ceiling and illuminating the area. Wainscot, mahogany stained wood, earth-tone and textured wallpaper brought sensibility and character to what was once a stark place. The main entrance was relocated from the center to the side to ensure maximum customer seating.
