A two-level 1,600 sq-ft space was selected for a new retail flower shop on a busy 42nd Street, near the Grand Central Terminal. Wanting to utilize the ground floor space exclusively to showcase flowers, its entire storage space was situated to the basement with the sole exception of the refrigerator. Tiny Bisazza glass tiles (2cm X 2cm) were applied to the walls surrounding the refrigerator; the resultant reflected light brightened the entire store. Natural slate and glass wall tiles were integrated to create a natural environment and to complement the flowers. The decorating work area and cash register were placed in the font of the store so that passersby can gaze at the flower arrangements being created.
