Cambridge Members
1270 Broadway, New York
One of the most respected Korean men’s clothing manufacturers needed an upscale retail outlet in Manhattan and seized a prime location at the corner of Broadway and 33rd Street. With the main entrance facing Broadway, it gave Cambridge Members a major presence and exposure in high-traffic Herald Square. The existing high-ceilings with its pendant-track lighting were transformed to an elevated 16 ft ceiling with recessed track-lighting. Ample indirect lights from the recessed wall cove created a sophisticated illumination while the direct ceiling lights provided clear accents to the clothing displayed on custom designed racks and fixtures. A gently-curved display wall at the entrance gave balance to the odd angle of the building perimeter. Stainless steel, walnut-stained Chinese cherry and clear glass were carefully selected for distinct back-drop and contrast to the laid-out clothing.
